Where are we?

The Gardini Lab operates at The Wistar Institute in Philadelphia, USA.

Wistar is a 125-year-old independent research institution, located in the heart of the University of Pennsylvania (UPenn) campus. Wistar is home to one of the oldest NCI-designated Cancer Center in the nation (The Ellen and Ronald Caplan Cancer Center) and a world-class Vaccine and Immunology Center.

We are always on the lookout for motivated scientists to join our group!  The lab currently accepts graduate students from most graduate programs at UPenn and from the Cell and Molecular Biology program of the University of Bologna.  Master internships from institutions within the US and abroad can be arranged on a case-by-case basis. 

Postdoctoral applications are welcome from around the globe!

Founded in 1892 as The Wistar Institute of Anatomy and Biology, primarily a museum of anatomical specimens and a publishing enterprise, Wistar turned swiftly into an internationally renowned powerhouse of biomedical research. Wistar scientific contributions include groundbreaking vaccines, monoclonal antibodies technology, fundamental discoveries on cancer genetics, chromatin and RNA biology.
